This package depends on clutter-1.0, which is no longer maintained
upstream (and has been effectively unmaintained for a while).

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/Initiatives/-/issues/31 has some porting
notes for projects that are part of GNOME, which might be useful
inspiration for porting this package.

Hi Michael,

there is a bug report[1] against the Debian packaged version of fotocx.
Well, unfortunately the package was not updated for a long time so its
the old fotoxx, but I intend to upgrade the package to its latest
version. I verified that the dependency from clutter exists even in
fotocx version 24.70.

The bug report basically links to a document "Port apps away from
clutter / cogl"[2] which might be potentially helpful for future
versions of your nice program.

Getting rid of clutter means a rewrite using GTK4.
This is a multi-month or year's project.

If I do this, I will look for an alternative widget system not Gnome based.

That's perfectly your choice. I simply wanted to do my duty to forward
the issue upstream. I have no good technical recommendation for you.
